Thumper Sport Massager, Calves and Biking,  June 2, 2010
By: Grant J. Hembach “Grant”

I do not write reviews. This is my first one. Why? Because this product did something that all the other (non percussion) massage products could not. Some background. I am a bicyclist by hobby – 100+ miles per week on the average at 18 – 20 mph avg speed. For about 2 or 3 years my calves starting getting very very tight and painful. I thought this was just part of biking…or getting old – I am 45 years old. I tried a regular electric massager(not percussion), though it felt good, it could not break up the knots in my calves. I also tried rollers, etc. and diff kinds of manual massages. I had a discussion a few weeks ago with my neighbor, who is a ex Ironman and still works out very hard. He said he never had that problem and that maybe the swimming made the knots go away. He said that I should not have tight calves, they need to be flexible. He suggested going to get regular massages. Great idea, but I don’t have the time with 3 young kids, nor the money to do it a lot. I know there are new machines out there just for feet and calves, but they are limited since they do not go high enough on my calves…and I am only 5’8″, plus they are 300 dollars or more. I came across some productions at Brookstone…one was called a percussion massages…interesting concept. I did some more readings on percussion massage, but no one ever mentioned calves with regards to percussion massages. Even the websites had videos, but they never showed them doing the calves. So in reading reviews, the Thumper came across as the best one for the money. I said, what do i have to lose, this is the last time before i go to see the doctor or sports therapist. I was just in to much pain just waking around the house. So to make a long story come to a close. I ordered the Thumper Sport. I have had it about 1 month. The first two days i used it, no results….but it felt good. After about the 3rd or 4th try, i noticed that my calves were slowly getting more flexible. After about a week and a half or two weeks of using this every day…the pain totally stopped and my calves were flexible again…..I still can’t believe that after years of pain, all i needed as this product. It’s amazing. This product is awesome and I will always use one – forget the regular massager…waste of money. I regularly use this every 2 days for about 10 minutes on my feet, calves, thighs, back and even the palms of my hands.

The Real Deal, September 16, 2010
Very effective, well built, quiet. I wish I had bought a Thumper years ago and not spent so much time and money on massages (though professional massages have their place, for sure). I can come home from work, have a glass of wine, take my shoes off, massage my shoulders, legs, back, arms, hands and feet and in 15 minutes I’m a much better person. Works very well through clothing; no need to disrobe. It says not to use it on head or neck, but I use it carefully on the back of my neck and jaw muscles and it releases tension there very quickly. I’ve used inexpensive battery operated massagers, but this powerful percussive massager sets up vibration right through the muscles, not just on the surface. Quite a different effect. No bearing down, or wishing it had more oomph.

Like to get thumped, December 17, 2009
By P. Sollecito (Seattle WA)

The thumper sport massager is a big step up from your standard old vibratory massager. The percussive action does penetrate deeper into the tissue and seems much more effective in reducing those tight muscle trigger zones.
We love it, use it on each other especially after hard workouts.
The longer handle allows you to “do yourself” for the upper back and neck.

Fantastic, April 16, 2010

I learned of this product when I got a massage. I have fibromyalgia and the therapist used it on my muscles. My back felt better than it had in two years. I order my own the next week. It is like a miracle.

Wish I’d bought Homedics, December 22, 2010
By: Online Shopper

Yeah, its okay. I bought it to replace my Homedics massager that my puppy ate. It is less intense than the Homedics one was, and the nubs are shorter, meaning easier to get my hair caught between nubs and body. I’m going to order another Homedics and keep this one as a backup.

Great Product, December 4, 2010

I’ve had fibromyalgia and chronic myofascial pain for 20 years and the only thing that helps me is deep tissue massage. This is the next best thing and so much better than any of the cheap imitations on the market. My husband can use this massager on me on a daily basis and keep my muscles from cramping up. Of course, it’s no substitute for a massage therapist, but it is a great supplimental therapy.

Thumper, January 13, 2011
By: A Kid’s Review

The Thumper massager was purchased to relieve the carpel tunnel tingling my wife experiences in her hand. The unit functioned as expected. The unit is a heavy unit and as a result supplies a deep message at the point of contact. Only a few minuets of Thumper use are required to relieve the carpel tunnel tingling in my wife’s hand.

massager even better than Ho-Medics, April 23, 2011
By: Lynn A. Cathey “lynn”

This review is from: New Thumper Sport Percussive Massager with Free Educational DVD (Health and Beauty)

I have rheumatoid arthritis and get muscle spasms in my shoulders and back where the bones are degenerating. I had used the Ho-medics for three years and the cord broke down and shorted out. I couldn’t find another to replace it and saw this Thumper massager and thought it was expensive but can’t live without one so bought it. I didn’t think I could be more satisfied than I was with the Ho-Medics one. This is so much better and deeper in it’s massaging that I don’t even use it on #5 just #4. It breaks up my spasms and the weight is just right to put enough pressure with it. I use it daily and after the massaging I do stretching exercises to finish it off and it generally lasts throughout the rest of the day. Amazon was good as usual and got it to me in just 2 days, I can’t say enough about the Thumper or Amazon, I would be lost without either.

Less power than our cheap Homedics, March 16, 2010
By: R. Hartsock (Denton, Texas USA)

While this massager does have good thumper action, it is much less powerful at full throttle than other massagers I have used. It also heats up after only 20 minutes of use.
